Rochester pizza farms

by Niki Fleming

New to Rochester? Pizza is one of the most popular foods in the world. No matter where you go, you'll find people who love a good slice of pizza. However, have you ever heard of a pizza farm? If you're a resident of Rochester, then you're in luck because there are several pizza farms located in the area:

- Berne Wood-Fired Pizza: You can head to Berne Wood-Fired Pizza in West Concord without spending a dime. The whole family can enjoy some amazing wood-fired pizzas while being surrounded by beautiful outdoors and good music. You can visit the place every Wednesday in June, July, and August between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The pizzas are served in a box, and they cost between $20-25, bring your own plates if you prefer. While you're there, you can purchase some pop, water, chips, and ice cream. However, if you have a specific beverage preference, you can bring your own. Do note that the establishment doesn't offer gluten-free crusts, and pets are not allowed. It's best to bring your own lawn chairs, and there are portable bathrooms available on the grounds. All the profits they make support the Zwingli United Church of Christ and chosen charities. To stay updated, you can visit their Facebook page to see some photos and customer feedback.

- Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm: Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm is located in Bloom Grove Township and offers a unique experience for the community. The farm spans across 55 acres and features delicious pizza, live music, and a charming countryside atmosphere. Pizza nights are held on specific dates, with hours varying from May to August. Guests are encouraged to bring their own seating and blankets as the farm is clean and requires visitors to transport their own trash. There are also trails to explore while waiting for or after enjoying your pizza. Although animals are appreciated, it's best to leave pets at home. The farm hopes that guests not only savor the delicious pizza but also take the time to appreciate the surroundings and live music.

- Red Barn Farm: At Red Barn Farm, in Northfield, you can explore its 10-acre grounds while indulging in their delicious pizzas and interacting with their horses and chickens. They also have a pesticide-free garden where they grow various seasonal vegetables. Reservations are necessary for Wednesday and Sunday Pizza, and visitors must arrive within a half-hour of their reserved time. Cash or check are the only accepted forms of payment, and guests must bring their own seating, tables, utensils, and other eating essentials. Additionally, visitors are responsible for taking their trash with them. Those who are 21 and above are allowed to bring alcohol.
